Historique :	Cette statue est à rapprocher des trois autres, analogues de matière et de dimensions (Saint Jean l'Evangéliste, Sainte Barbe, Saint Roch) et de celle qui est conservée à la chapelle Notre-Dame de Pitié et qui semble représenter la Vierge. L'ensemble de ces statues serait du aux Peru, dynastie de trois sculpteurs, graveurs et archtiectes d'Avignon : Jean Péru (1650-1723), Jean-Baptiste Ier Péru (1676-1744) et Jean-Baptiste II Péru (1703-1790).
