Historique :	Au 18e siècle, le mas de Someyre est agrandi et devient le château d'Avignon. En 1811, le général de Miollis, comte d'Empire, l'achète et réalise quelques travaux, comme l'indique l'année 1813 sur un cadran solaire. En 1893, le domaine est acheté par le négociant Louis Noilly-Prat qui fait entièrement remanier l'intérieur par l'architecte Auguste Veran et l'ébéniste Auguste Blanqui. Il fait construire, entre 1895 et 1900, des dépendances qu'il dote des dernières applications techniques (station de pompage, chaufferie, électricité, téléphone). Cet ensemble illustre le confort et la modernité de la fin du 19e siècle.
