Description :	Statue monumentale, pratiquement grandeur nature. Très grande qualité dans la sculpture et la dorure (plis, orfrois). Le saint tenait un crucifix dans la main droite. Dos évidé. Aube et camail.

Historique :	Vers 1657-1662. D'après Pierre-Joseph de Haitze (Curiosités de la ville d'Aix, 1679), ces statues se trouvaient dans le retable du maître-autel de l'église de l'Oratoire. Retable à trois registres : en haut, la Vierge et l'ange Gabriel ; au milieu, saint Charles Borromée et saint Philippe Néri ; en bas, saint Pierre et saint Paul. Ce retable comptait aussi six tableaux dont les trois principaux sont de Mignard. Le tableau principal représentant la Nativité daté de 1658 est conservé aujourd'hui à l'église de la Madeleine. Saint Charles Borromée (1538-1584), archevêque de Milan, fondateur des Oblats, a été canonisé en 1610.
